Slow Cabins introduces

Slow Working

Distraction free workcations at off-grid cabins designed to help you get inspired.

Consciously choose time away from daily work routine to invest in your professional wellbeing. Take stock, refocus and grow at Slow Cabins®.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO STAND STILL TO MOVE FORWARD

Those who practice ‘slow working’ consciously give attention to quality, broader thinking and purpose rather than speed and efficiency.

You take the time to reflect and thoughtfully start a task without trying to tick it off the to-do list in a hurry.

It sounds contradictory, but ‘slow working’ improves your efficiency and productivity. Breaks are much needed, ‘less is more’ and a natural environment underpins creative thinking and working.

You are back at the helm of your work, instead of the tasks running away with you.

WHY SHOULD I STAY WITH SLOW CABINS®?

Slow Cabins aims to create a positive impact on people and planet. We do this by organising slow experiences, raising off-grid awareness and regenerative nature building in Europe.

Slow Cabins are ecological cabins that are completely self-sufficient in terms of water and electricity. They are located in magical locations in the great outdoors, where you can slow down, focus and create.

The cabins are spread over several regions in Flanders and Ireland at a driving distance of less than two hours from major cities. Fourteen days before your stay, we will send you a brochure with the exact location of your stay.

Where are Slow Cabins located?

Our Slow Cabins are spread across several regions in Flanders and Ireland. They are located at a two hours’ drive or less from major cities, so there is always one nearby.

We currently have Slow Cabins in the following regions in Flanders:

* Haspengouw
* Flemish Ardennes
* Pajottenland
* Antwerp – Noorderkempen

When you book with us, you will receive all the information on how to get to your Slow Cabin.

How much is a Slow Working-package?

We offer four comprehensive packages:

* one day (9am to 5pm): 240,-
* one night (check-in at 4pm; check-out at 5pm): 300,-
* two nights (check-in at 4pm; check-out at 11am): 350,-
* tailor-made (decide the number of nights yourself): price to be agreed upon

Making a Slow Working experience happen in the middle of nature is not an easy task. Our professional cleaning team is available every day to prepare the most remote cabins for an inspiring stay in all weather conditions.

Slow Cabins are completely self-sufficient. That means your hot water, electricity and heating comes 100% from nature. The ten high-tech solar panels generate energy that is stored in the latest home batteries. You will have enough electricity during your stay with normal consumption.

In addition, each cabin has a water tank that can hold 1,500 litres of rainwater. That water is then filtered through three filters so you can shower and cook safely. Afterwards, a natural helophyte bed ensures that the waste water can be returned to the ground clean and safe. This keeps the impact on nature to a bare minimum.

We also provide everything you need and nothing you don’t. This way you can enjoy an unforgettable and inspiring stay, close to yourself and nature.

Can I bring someone?

Slow Cabins are designed for inspiring workspace for one or two persons, equipped with a queen-size bed (160×200). You can come perfectly alone as well as brainstorm with a (business) partner or organise a one-on-one session with a client.

Would you like to book multiple days with a business partner or client? We offer locations with multiple cabins that are close to each other. Contact us and we’ll find a solution.

When and how long can I stay?

We offer Slow Working-packages from Monday to Friday. Depending on the package, the check-in and -out times differ slightly.

If availability allows it, it is possible to deviate from this schedule and book an additional weekend. Feel free to contact us and we’ll see what we can do.

Should I bring my own food?

In the brochure, which you will receive fourteen days before your arrival, you will find a list of local (sustainable) partners where you can go for shopping, buy meals or go out to restaurants.

In some cases, it is possible to book a breakfast for your stay that will be delivered directly to the cabin.

Due to the logistical complexity of Slow Cabins, it is not yet possible to book hot meals today. In the cabin you will find all basic ingredients and kitchen utensils to prepare a tasty meal. There is also a wood barbecue outside.

It is entirely up to you whether you bring your own food, buy something locally in the local shops or go out for a meal in the neighbourhood.

Is there Wi-Fi?

We opt for a WiFi-free stay, because creative thinking is rarely accompanied by electronic devices. Of course we understand the diverse needs of our guests and we offer Wi-Fi in some cabins for those who really need it. Just let us know what you prefer when booking, and we will accommodate your request.

I am self-employed. Is my stay deductible?

Definitely! Your Slow Working-experience is for professional purposes and is therefore 100% deductible. You will receive the invoice by e-mail a couple of days after your stay.

I'd like to come more than once. Is that possible?

We do too! It’s no-brainer to invest in multiple trips per year as part of building healthy working habits. We offer an annual subscription service as of 3 stays. Get in touch with us, and we’ll come back with an offer.
